Christmas Day 2017

Christmas Day 2017

We had a nice relaxing day. The morning was spent opening gifts and then we went out to McDonald’s for breakfast. In the afternoon we took the kids to the park to try out some new toys. For dinner we had an easy pork roast from Costco:

This Christmas Nomz was 5 years old, Sky 1 year old. We had to place the ornaments on the top half of the tree to prevent Sky from taking them all off but somehow he managed to climb on top of things to grab some every time I wasn’t looking. We also couldn’t place any presents under the tree until the night before or he would have ripped them open in an instant.

The highlight of my Christmas this year was what I discovered under the tree while vacuuming a few days ago. I noticed what first looked like crumpled up paper but on closer inspection turned out to be an object wrapped in paper along with an envelope. It turns out, Nomz had written a letter, wrapped one of her own toys in printer paper and placed them under the tree for her baby brother. The letter reads in Japanese “Dear Sky. I love you. From Nomz”. My heart melted. I had to take a picture to remember this sweet moment.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
